All mail is gone

A friend just called me in a panic. She says she deleted a single email
by highlighting it and hitting the delete key, and all her emails and
contacts have disappeared. We have rebooted and repaired permissions,
but with no help.
This is in a G4 ibook running 10.3.9 and using Entourage in Office 2004
for the mac.
Thanks for any help you can give. Since I don't use entourage I can't
help her very much.

Servus,

That can't be. (I hope)
If she does this, the mail is moved to the "deleted items" folder, and
if you hit delete in the deleted items folder, only the highlighted
messeage gets deleted.
In the documents folder inside your userfolder, is there a folder
called
"Microsoft User Data"?
If yes, all your mails, contacts, tasks etc are stored in one single
file, inside the folder called "Microsoft 2004 Identies".
Do you have this folder?

You're right. I talked to her after the panic subsided, and I think she
clicked on the mailbox instead of just a single email. We went through
that folder and her account and all contacts are still there, but all
the emails are gone.
I am going to go to their house today and see what they have in their
settings regarding keeping emails on the server or deleting them. I may
end up calling their email people and see what they say. They are a
small business that contracts with someone called Atomicshops for a
domain name and email.
Thanks
