All New mail arrives in deleted folder

I created a subfolder ("pdp") of an inbox subfolder - somehow I got all
my new mail to go into this folder - now I have deleted this folder I
get sound of mail arriving but cannot see it without doing a search of
mail within last 2 days and deleted "pdp" folder still seems to exist
and have all my mail in. Any ideas on how to sort this please?

Check Deleted Items. Most likely the folder is still there.

Check your Mailing List Manager (MLM) and your Rules for the culprit that is
moving your messages to the new folder.
