Almost perfect: Auto Response Help

P

Howdy,
I got a rule for entourage that acts as an auto-responder. I am
changing the subject prefix to "On Vacation" and then I set the reply
text. Is it possible to change only the subject of the reply e-mail
instead of the subject of the e-mail in my inbox? Right now when I
recieve an e-mail and the subject changes in my inbox so that the
reply subject has changed. Also can I get rid of the RE: prefix for
my auto response? The subject looks like: RE:On Vacatoin: "original
subject" on my current autoresponse. I would like it just to say On
Vacation: "original subject".

Thanks,
prophet

Please check out the rule here for problems with "vacation" emails. Please
make sure your reply does not get sent to any mailing lists as a mail loop
can result and make you very unpopular!

Diane,
My question did not get answered. How can I change the subject for
the outgoing mail only, not for the incomming mail? How do I make an
auto response without the "RE:" at the front of the subject? Your
link does nothing to help me answer my questions. All I have now is
one pathetic auto response.

You can't do that in a standard AutoReply rule. It could be done by running
a custom-designed AppleScript.
