alphanumeric cells

Hello,

This might be a beginner question but is there any way to add alphanumeric
cells together? Example 30b+30b=60b? I am importing points from another
software package and need to total those points but retain the alpha value.

do you always have only one character at the end of your data. and do
you also have different characters at the end and do you want to sum
them separately?
