American Office 2003 compatible with german keyboard?

Shona

Hi, I am a military spouse, currently living in Germany. I would like to
purchase a military edition of Office 2003 but am unsure whether it will work
flawlessly on my German PC. My main concern is whether it will recognise the
keyboard, since the german keyboard has some different keys on the keyboard.
For instance the z and the y are in reversed places. So, if I install the
american version on the german computer will it write z when I want to write
z or will it write y (why??:))Any info is appreciated, thanx! Shona

Hi Shona,

You should be fine. The keyboard is actually controlled by Windows. So
as long as your Windows currently recognizes the keyboard correctly,
Office will do so too.
The only thing the English copy of Office won't do is give you a German
spell checker.
If you want the keyboard to pretend that it is an American though, you
can do that as well :) So if you rather get the z when you hit the y on
the keyboard...;)
If you run into any issues or need help setting it up, just post back
and we'll help you.
