An unknown error (114) occurred

I have gotten this message on two Pmac G4/466 units that I have
installed OS X.3.7 on along with Office 2004. I have run all the
Office patches, and get this message when I set up an IMAP account in
Entourage to talk to Exchange 5.5 sp6. I have setup new G5 accounts in
entourage in December that are still working with the same server, so
don't know what is going on. The mail account on each mac is still
good, as the users can access their mail through classic mode with
Outlook 2001 on the same server.

I can actually setup IMAP accounts in OS X Mail and send/receive from
the exchange server ok, so I have determined that the problem is
specific to Entourage 2004. Any takers on this problem??

Have your tried looking at the Entourage errors page? If not, bookmark this
page: http://www.entourage.mvps.org/error/page.html#error114

You're obviously connecting to an Exchange Server. To save you a step,
here's a cut-and-paste from that page: "Error 114: Exchange 2004- This
error indicates a proxy error from netlib. Check Proxy support setup. Try
requires authentication."

I looked at the proxy settings in the network pane as well as the IMAP
server settings in the account in Entourage. Everything looks proper.
I did delete all accounts, and restart Entourage to see if a fresh
account would make the difference. The same error, and Apple's mail
product keeps on working just fine with an Exchange account checked ,
which supposedly shouldn't work with just Exchange 5.5. Why does Mail
send and receive, while the error 114 happens with Entourage during
send or receive. It is a positive error, so the help on the Entourage
page is appreciated, just not the fix. Should I just uninstall and
reinstall Office 2004??

I should say that the 2nd user that had had the same error 114 problems
got her Entourage to work by having the Exchange admins unlock her
account for a day, until it just started, but that sounds too magical
to me, but I have no other clues. My G5s are still working fine with
Entourage, so it has to be the installation and upgrade. If this
doesn't work, I will be back.
