Having abandoned PDF's and HTML for reporting to non-project users, I have
used the analysis toolbar and exported my resource pool to Excel using
analyze timescaled data in Excel. This is just the job however, does anyone
know how I can show which projects the time is against rather than just
having 'work' displayed. Whilst this report shows that people are busy on
certain days it would be nice to know specifically what they are up to.

spiders,
Although the export utility is a very good tool it doesn't have a lot of
flexibility. There are a couple of approaches. One is to separately
export the Project field data with an export map (File/Save As/Save As
Type). Once all the data (static and timescaled) is in Excel, combine it
to form the report you need. This approach is manually intensive but
nonetheless it can get you there.

A much better approach is to use an advanced feature of Project, namely,
VBA. Using VBA you can write (or have someone write for you) a custom
macro to export whatever data you need and format it in whatever manner
you want.

You might also want to check out fellow MVP Rod Gill's "Reporting across
Multiple Projects" utility. You can find his utility at:

Hope this helps.
