Anchoring an image file in a doc?

Dave Jennings

Hi everyone,

I use a form with an integral card element, so naturally that always is
in the same location.

I want to include details on this card, again these being static.

What's the best way of doing this, so that I can edit the main text
around this area whilst keeping these fields from moving?

( Am I explaining this well? It doesn't seem like it! )

I have experimented with the header/footer option which is do-able but
far from perfect.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards,

Dave.

Hi Dave,

Basically, Word simply does not support placing a graphic on a specific
page in a document.

If you enable a text wrappring format, then position it relative to the
page/margins, it will always stay in the same position on the page. This
you can do.

But a graphic is always anchored to a specific paragraph, and will always
be on the same page as that paragraph. So if the text is edited to the
extent that the anchoring paragraph moves to another page, then the
graphic will also move to that page. The only circumstance where you can
get stability in this respect is if you insert the graphic object first,
then all the text. In this case, the anchor is always in front of all the
text and the graphic should remain on Page 1.

Dear Cindy,

Many thanks for your advice. I'll try that out on Monday when I next
have to wrestle with these!

Best regards,

Dave.
