[ANN] Entourage and compression fix for OS 10.3x

Issue: Customers using Entourage X with MacOS 10.3.x are unable to
compress files using Entourage via the New Message composition window.

Reason: Apple is shipping a new compression library with 10.3.x (version
7) and Entourage X doesn't know about it.

Workaround: Aladdin, the makers of the library, has posted the old library
on the Internet. Customers in this situation, should go to this URL,
download, and install the software, to restore the functionality in
Entourage.

Thanks very much, Diane. Will photos and/or documents compressed with this
Stuffit patch be open-able by Windows recipients of such email attachments?

Excellent, Diane, thank you. However, when can we expect a new version of
Entourage from Microsoft that addresses this properly, and starts adding the
missing features we need in the corporate world? And perhaps addresses a
few other issues along the way?

I don't wish to sound ungrateful as I think that Entourage X is a major leap
up from Outlook 2001 (at least I can synch to my Palm without having to run
Virtual PC and Outlook 2000, which could sometimes take up to 45 minutes -
in Entourage X it takes less than a minute!!!). However, we have gone
through considerable pain implementing this and there are things that need
to be fixed up. See my other post today titled : Issues I'd like to see
addressed in the next release of Entourage X".

Anything that MS will allow you to share with us?

MVPs don't hear about announcements any sooner than the public.

I suggest you send your comments and issues to Feedback. This will get MS's
attention. I doubt they have the time to scan newsgroups for these issues.

In Entourage X, go to Help -> Send Feedback on Entourage.

How do I send and receive email from my yahoo account. Right now I can send
mail trhough entourage and it shows that it comes from yahoo account but
when I try to receive its from earthlink account. Can I change this? Amber

If you are already paying the $30/yr fee, check your settings:

Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: pop.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com (use authentication) Do
this by clicking on Advanced Sending Options and then Use Authentication.
Account Name/Login Name: your email address without the "@yahoo.com"
Email Address: your Yahoo! Mail address (e.g., [email protected])
Password: your Yahoo! Mail password

If this does not answer your question, you need to repost with a different
subject that reflects your question.
