Annoying "Beep" in Entourage

Entourage "beeps" a low thump sound every few seconds while open. Any
ideas? No posts to threads that I could find. Many thanks!

That's the no mail sound. How often are you checking?

see if a yeild icon is present on the right corner your server is
getting timed out i have the same probelem
