I stopped reading when Coursey wrote that "In a matter of weeks, Macs
should become full players on Exchange-based e-mail systems."
Mail.app's Exchange support is going to be inferior to EWS, let alone
Outlook 2010.
Yeah, I'll get Snow Leopard once its released but I'm going to tread
slowly this time. I won't be installing it until I see what they have
to say over at MacFixit, MacWorld and of course the forums at
Apple.com. I'm not expecting though that Exchange support would be
what Microsoft could offer should Microsoft put their hearts to it and
that's why I think their move to Outlook for the Mac is a good one.
For me though, I'm looking to Snow Leopard to help rectify some other
significant annoyances of which no one, even the third party
developers, seem to be sure whether it will or not. One developer did
tell me though that from their perspective its looking pretty good so
that's encouraging.
Who knows what Office for the Mac 2010 will bring but I'm really
crossing my fingers Microsoft puts their backs into it. I sort of feel
at times I'm one of the few that likes Microsoft products, I'm just
disappointed with their Mac offerings of late. Microsoft today reminds
me so much of the way people perceived IBM in the 80's. Remember IBM
being referred to as a dinasour. Yet, they're still here and doing
well they just don't receive the press and attention that these other
guys who are perceived as cool do.
