Anti-spam plugin

Anyone know of an antispam plugin for OL2003 that is stable and not too
resource-hungry? Relying on the standard junk filter which only gives an
option to block by sender address is unrealistic since most junk mail has
forged headers.

Outlook 2003's Junk Email handling works better than most anti-spam
programs that I've ever tried.

So when it misses one and the only options it gives are blocking the sender
address or domain (which are forged), you think that is effective??? I'd
much prefer to be able to block IP addresses/ranges or CIDRs.

It's the logic in the rules that are applied that you don't see that I
think makes the standard Junk filter exceptional. I rarely need to
manually add a Junk Sender.
You can find a list of alternate 3rd party tools here:

Thank you. That is a useful site. I was already trying spambayes, but was
looking for an IP based solution and/or blocklist utilization. People may
also want to take a look at SpamIntelligence at spamint.com.

The *very* few that it misses, I just delete without opening, knowing
that I'll probably never receive another message from that address.

Sorry, but I can't get that crazy about the small amount of spam that
makes it through Outlook 2003's Junk Email feature when all I need to
do is hit the Delete key without looking at the stuff.

When you have a publicly used email address that has been around for a few
years, the amount of spam you get is considerable. The number that the
built in junk filter misses here is between 30 and 60 per day. The reason I
am looking for a good way to block spam based on IP address is because most
spam send from servers in China or Korea do not send spam from addresses
with either .cn or .kr. Trying to block forged addresses based on the
sender's address is useless.

I've used a rule to look for "211." in the message headers. However,
blocking networks on the client-side is not optimal. It would be better for
you to modify your server (if you can) to block those networks.

I use ChoiceMail which, initially uses your address boolc/contact list to
filter spam. It also makes it simple to have mail from multiple accounts go
directly to your inbox.

www.digiportal.com

BTW There's a 30 day free trial.
