any known chinese characters/unicode issues...?

Hi,

this is more out of curiosity than immediate need: does anybody know how
Outlook and OOM/Redemption deal with unicode strings? Is unicode the default
or are there any switches etc...
Also are there differences between say the US version and the Taiwanese
version of Outlook I should be aware of?
Is there anything else I have to pay special attention to?

If this is a trivial COM topic, please excuse my ignorance, I am just a Java
guy ;-)
