Any way to cajole Entourage to accept "special" characters inidentity field?

Entourage [9.0.2 (4011) / Mac OS 9.2.2] does not allow me to insert my name
in the Identity field of a newly created News account, presumably because of
the ó and ñ characters. Since my correct name is my ID at the Adobe forums,
the authentication process fails.

Is there a way to force Entourage to accept so-called "special" characters?
I don't think of them as "special"; they look pretty normal to me.
