Any way to clean newsgroup mailboxes?

I¹ve looked through help files and don¹t see anything on this... Do the
mailboxes for newsgroup messages just keep getting bigger and bigger until
they pop? I don¹t see any way to delete read messages from the list. There
must be one? Right?

A clue from someone, please?

You can control-click the news server and empty cache. In general, Entourage
will auto-clean up news messages after they expire off of the server. Of
course if messages aren¹t expiring, you¹ll probably want to manually clear
the cache every now and then.

I was ctrl-clicking the groups and not the server. Didn¹t see the option.

If I don¹t, I¹ll end up with 8000 posts in each group, right? If the
retention is not so hot, it doesn¹t matter.
