I went through about 60 pages of postings and haven't
found an error 1305 post that seemed answered. Here's
our problem. I did an install to a shared directory for
use in installing via GPO. This worked for my first
group of about 15 machines. Then I've started trying to
install it on other user machines as they have decided to
switch. Now the install is failing with and error 1305
on msaccess.exe.
Most error 1305's point toward the CD, but of course in
this case the CD cannot be corrupt. I checked
permissions and the permission for MSACCESS is identical
to that of all the other files, it is inherited. So I
don't believe it can be that. I have replaced the file
from the CD with no effect, and then replaced it with one
from my machine and still no effect. I read where
outdated/corrupt MDAC can cause a problem, but in my most
recent attempt I updated that on my target machine and it
still didn't work.
I have mapped a drive to the install point and tried to
install it manually, still with no success. I have made
sure Norton anti-virus is not in real-time mode. I am an
administrator on the machines.
Right now I am upgrading without Access and it so far
appears to be working. But this isn't a satisfactory
answer. What can be wrong with MSACCESS.EXE?
Thanks for any ideas.
