aol via outlook, outgoing emails aren't being sent

I transferred my AOL to Outlook 2003 and everything works well except the
outgoing email that simply doesn't go. All settings are correct according to
teh Microsoft website. I keep ketting the dialogue box that tells me that
things aren't happening and the messages pile up in mySent box.

Any ideas?
