AppleGothic font problem in PPT 2004

I burned up about 90 minutes today with three support people trying to get my
font to display correctly in PowerPoint. I'm writing this to make the
solution known publicly.

It turned out that problem is that PPT 2004 uses the AppleGothic font
instead of Aboriginal Serif when certain characters are used. The solution is
to disable the AppleGothic font.
