I keep a master identity containing e-mail from several POP and IMAP
accounts on my office machine, which is backed up regularly; I then copy the
master identity (currently over 1.5 GB) to a portable hard drive and
transfer the most up-to-date copy to my laptop and home machine for weekends
and when I travel. I currently turn off the 'save on server' for my laptop
and home machine so that the office machine always has the most complete
version which is then backed up when I return from travelling. I have
thought of having the identity reside on my .mac iDisk, but I'm concerned
the backing up on anything less than a very fast connection will make this
unworkable.
With multiple accounts, I need to manually click the 'save on server' box
for each mail account when I update the laptop or home machine. Is there a
way to automate this in Applescript so that it toggles back and forth?
Anyone aware of a way of doing this? Or is there a simpler way of
synchronizing identities on three machines?
