Application Quitting

Cathy Yih

I have an e-mail that was sent to me and everytime I click on it I get
the message: "The application Microsoft Entourage has unexpectedly
quit." It only happens on this message --I can click on any other
e-mail and no problems. How can I get rid of this problem e-mail
message.
thanks,
Cathy

How can I get rid of this problem e-mail
message.

Try right-clicking (ctrl-clicking) the message. If the application doesn't
immediately poop out, select the "Delete Message" option that is in the
sub-menu which will pop up. That should do it.

If that doesn't work, check your preferences. Go into General Preferences
-> Security, and then uncheck "Display complex HTML in messages" if it's
checked. It sounds like a poorly-formatted message is crashing the
rendering engine.

Hi Cathy.
My suggestion would be to deactivate the preview pane, so that Entourage
doesn't try to display it. Then, delete it, either by selecting it and
hitting the delete button, by using the contextual menu or by just dragging
it into the Deleted Items folder. To make sure that this e-mail is deleted
for good, you'd better empty your Deleted Items folder once you have done
this. (Ctrl-click or right-click the Deleted Items folder and choose Empty
'Deleted Items')

Turn off the preview pane, select the message in the folder listing and
delete it. Then, empty the deleted items folder.
