Applications not available in Journal

Using OL 2000, single user machine, running win98 2nd ed.
I have MS office 2000 loaded, as well as powerpoint 2k.
The journal recognizes PPoint but not the rest of office.
I have tried reinstalling & repairing office to no avail.
Any advice would be appreciated.
