Apply a percentage factor to a base number

I am wanting to do this:

Cell A contains a percentage, sometimes negative, sometimes positive.
(cell A by necessity is formatted as a percentage)

Cell B contains the "base figure" which I want to apply that % to.

Cell 3 is to contain the answer.

If cell A is positive I want that percentage added to cell B, if it's
negative I want it subtracted.

Thanks for any help

Hi,

A1= percentage
B1= Base number
Try this formula
=B1+B1*A1
Format as number

Mike

Thanks, I'll try that at work this morning, the only thing is I am
trying to leave Cell A formatted as a % as about 4 other cells are
dependant on it.

I will feedback how I get on tonight.

Gee that seems so simple compared to what I have been trying to do
(using if statements to differentiate between positive & negative)
Thanks for the help, I'll feedback tonight
