Appointment Reminder

I set reminder for an appointment. During the period, my Entourage 2004
was closed. Some time later, I opened Entourage and did not get due
reminder. The reminder will show in Outlook for Windows if I did the same.
Is there anything missing in Entourage? Thanks.

Entourage needs to have the Daemon running in order to trigger the
Reminder when it is time. Either, for some reason, the daemon was not
added to the Login items (Account prefpane in MacOS X 10.3) or it
crashed... Re-launching Entourage usually automatically corrects the
problem (relaunching the daemon and making sure it is registered as a
login item).

PS: you are sure you did not deactivate Office Notifications in
Entourage ??

You should be getting the reminder even when Entourage is closed. If you
did, and you dismissed it without "snoozing" it, it won't re-appear when you
open Entourage. If none of your reminders are appearing, make sure that that
you have Office Notifications on- take a look in the Entourage menu at the
left. If it says "Turn Office Notifications On", select it. (Don't turn them
Off.)

Thanks Corentin. It worked. I found there were two MS Office daemons not
checked. One was Entourage and the other was AU. I don't know why it was
not checked after installation. On the other hand, may I know what is AU?
Thanks.

Checked ?? Where? in the login items ?? Not very relevant here.
AU stands for Auto Update I guess.

Thanks.

That is the new 'autoupdate daemon', introduced in office 2004.

It will, if your preferences are so set, check at regular intervals to see
if Office has been updated and offer to download the updates for you.
