Archive doesn't work

I cannot force the archive feature to clean up all old
calender items. I've tried both the auto archive and
manual to take off all old items prior to Jan 31, 2004 and
it will not take them off my calendar.

The end result is that I have all appointments going back
to 2000. This is clogging up my PDA when I sync up.

Please help!

Well, archiving doesn't work on the calendar entry date, it works on the
date the entry was modified. Also, you should be able to tell your sync
software that you don't want to sync old calendar items. On my sync, I sync
only the past two weeks of appointments and all future appointments.
