Well, which would you like to do?
To delete unneeded old events, make a Custom View in the Calendar area of
just Calendar events. Call it All Events.
Match <if ANY criteria are met>
If
Category is None
Category is not None
That will give you all events. Sort by Date so you can get a time-view.
Don't forget that recurring events are listed just as their original
occurrence date, but they do have a "recurring" icon so you can know to
check whether they're still ongoing.
To archive them to a file before deleting them, you can get my shareware
"Export-Import Entourage X" scripts from
MacScripter.net <
http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/>
Use Calendar Export from X to export your selected events, or every event
occurring in a particular time frame, or from specific categories, etc., to
a text file. You can then import the text file into Excel if you wish -
there are more scripts in the package for adjusting date formats, separating
date and time, etc. And a script for importing the text files back into
Entourage (perhaps another identity, if you wish).
You can do the same for tasks, notes, contacts, groups, if you should so
wish. And actually a lot more, should the need arise.
