We're running Project Professional and Server 2003, and trying to come
up with a strategy to archive completed / old projects. Our objectives
are to;
a) retain a final copy of the project
b) have the finished project NOT show up in the list when we go to open
a project.
c) keep the project and its related tasks from showing up on the
server's web access
While reading the archives and old similar messages I found two
interesting recommendations:
~ saving a project to backup disks / tapes / cds and otherwise removing
it
~ somehow "hiding" the .mpp files, or setting them to a "hidden" state
Can someone please explain in more detail how to do either of those,
that would be excellent. And of course, I've got yet-unanswered
questions about both. For the
first, would we risk losing any data related to these projects, like
actual time entered or project-related dates? As to the second, how
exactly does one implement this approach?
