Archiving or pesonal folders

Hello,

I am a windows/office admin and appx 98% of our 10,000 users use
outlook. But we have a few user's that use Entourage. Can anyone
tell me where to find information on archiving email or moving them to
some type of "personal folder". From what I found on MAC sites, that
this is a not so simple task. We have mailbox limits for all of our
users but we can not put them for the MAC users because our MAC
sysadmin has not found a feasible solution for archiving. Any help
will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks-

Hi,

In Entourage there is no concept of personal folder whereas when you
configure your email account in Entourage it automatically stores a copy of
mail on the local system. All the mails will be stored under the following
location.

for Entourage X : [OS10 Hard drive] \User\ [Current User Name]\ Documents\
Microsoft User
Data\Office X Identities\ [identity name]
&
for Entourage 2004 :[OS10 Hard drive] \User\ [Current User Name]\ Documents\
Microsoft User
Data\Office 2004 Identities\ [identity name]

If want to take a backup then you can backup complete Microsoft User Data
folder and keep it.

Also you can create Multiple Identities and configure your account in those
identities.

Hope this resolves your issue.

You can also create a new folder on your computer and drag selected messages
(in groups or one at a time) from your IMAP server to the folder you
created.

What I would do is create a folder under "Folders on My Computer" in
Entourage where I will store the archived messages. Then I would
create a folder on the hard drive where I can collect the messages for
archiving. Then I would go to the Exchange folder containing the
messages that I wanted to archive, select them, and drag them out of
Entourage into the folder on the hard drive. Then I would select them
in the hard drive folder and drag them back into the folder I created
under "Folders on My Computer" in Entourage. I would spot check the
new copies to see that they are OK, then I would delete the originals
from the Exchange account folder, and those on the hard drive, too, if
I didn't want a separate archive.

I would skip the in-between step of taking them to the desktop. I would just
move them directly to the folder under "Folders on My Computer" in
Entourage. Moving them to the Desktop first seems superfluous to me.
