Thanks Jan,
For my understanding, is it correct to say that a resource calendar is just
a layer above a base calendar.
If nothing is defined for a given date (use default) in the resource
calendar, then the base calendar working time is defaulted.
If working time is defined for a given date (as nonworking time or
nondefault working time), then the working time defined in the base calendar
is ignored.
Which would mean that changes in the underlying base calendar impact a
resource calendar only for the dates defined as "use default" working time.
Furthermore, all base calendars are defined above a "granite" calendar
defining unmodifiable (8:00-12:00 13:00-17:00) working times.
Calendars in MS Projects are defined on three levels: "Granite" Calendar /
Base Calendars / Resource Calendars, where you see the underlying calendar
definition only if you define "use default" working time.
I hope I understood the mechanism correctly.
