Are "Drafts" editable in E2004?

After I queue an outgoing email, I don¹t seem to be able to open and revise
it before sending it on.

Is this a real problem or just something I haven¹t learned yet?

(You're going to have to abstain from the parchment background, Bill, or I'm
probably just going to skip your posts. ;-)

If you've already queued the message to "Send Later", you have to go to the
Outbox and find it there. Double-click it to open it in its own window - you
can't edit it in the preview pane. It will edit fine: it won't open only if
it's already in the process of being sent out. So if you weren't ready to
send it previously, and knew it, instead of "Send Later" you should have
pressed "Save as Draft" button (or menu item). Then you'd be able to find it
in the Drafts folder, not Outbox. I'm not quite sure what happens if you're
editing a message in the Outbox and the Send & Receive schedule goes off.
I'd feel more comfortable myself if the message were in the Drafts folder.
In fact, before opening it to edit you could drag it from Outbox to Drafts
folder, go to Drafts, and open it for editing from there.

Parchment out. Still would like to use blue type. Do I have permission for
that?

As for the editing, I didn¹t really understand the difference between
opening the email and previewing it. Since E lets us draft in preview, I
don¹t quite get why it won¹t let us edit in preview if the email isn¹t sent,
but ca va....

Thanks!

Fine with me.

No it doesn't. You must be imagining that... ;-) You can only compose or
edit messages in a "draft window" a new massage window.

What does sending have to do with it? Until you actually send it, how does
Entourage know whether you're going to send it, save it or trash it?
"Editable" text is only available in draft windows, draft news windows,
notes, etc. Never in Preview pane.

You¹re right of course. I was imagining it. My mind is an exciting place
today. Probably serves me right for having a great big preview window that
is about the same size as the new mail window. At least that¹s the only
excuse I can think of on short notice.

This makes my other comments ridiculous. Thanks for the patience.

Best,

- Bill
