Are the microsoft developers complete morons?

I am sorry. I don't mean to be rude but I just purchased Entourage for Mac
and there is no way to actually look at a whole year of calendar. This is
supposed to be the most advanced calendar program for Mac and the
programmers could not foresee that a person using a calendar program would
actually need to look at a calendar for an extended range of time? Give me a
brake. Maybe some of these people need to get out from behind the computer
every once in a while and take a hike in nature.

I am not quite understanding something. If the devolopers of microsof
are complete morons, yet, this is a mac app? Or is this one of thos
programs that was remade for mac?

I tend to think that the devolopers of microsoft are stupid, but i hav
reasons, this doesnt really sound like much of a valid reason, i mea
its 1 program, i mean if your gonna be that way i am sure there is
program for mac that sucks, lol.

MY REASONS FOR NOT LIKING WINDOW
I dont like microsoft because all of the problems with it alway
crashing, and virus's ya know. Some of it is their fault, some is not
but still. Also, windows just doesnt have that sexy interface mac has
although XP is much better looking then 98, i would throw up if i ha
to go back to that ugly crap lol. Another reason i hate microsoft i
because many of the games you install on windows **** with th
registry, and then you get all kinds of problems. And some of the
start at startup which can make the pc take longer to load, Many app
for windows have spyware intergraded in them. Such as KaZaA, Yaho
Messenger (if you do full install). And one of the biggest reasons
dont like windows is bad intergration with media devices. It took me
hours to convert mpeg or mpeg2 to dvd, and i lost some picture quality
Ripping dvd's from 7GB to 4GB wasnt so bad, took an hour, but i couldn
do anything else. Ripping cd's seems to sometimes struggle, kind o
like ripping a dvd. iTunes works great on, yes even windows lol :)
Burns cd's good too XD.

*See now those are good reasons for not liking microsoft lol :)

Ignoring the rudeness and ranting. You can view the calendar in list format
and cover as much time as you like.

A view (like month view) that tried to display a full year would be
pitifully minute, and would not be able to display sufficient information to
be useful.

Your response is ridiculous. People buy calendars and put them up on their
wall just to see a whole year. Maybe single appointments would not be
readable but with color coding one could easily get a sense for task timing
over a whole year. Microsoft develops a calendar product but does not
observe to see how people use calendars? My response holds. Get away from
the computer once in a while and re-familiarize yourself with the real
world.

I agree that this would be a handy feature--but I don't think I've seen any
other requests for it here, so perhaps it is not as common or as fundamental
as you think?

Consider a paper planner--I didn't flip to the full year at the back but a
few times a year, while the daily scheduling and the month calendar got used
all the time. And I can't think of much I used it for that I can't
replicate by flipping through the little calendars.

OK, I'll ignore the rudeness once again...
People buy calendars and put them up on their
wall just to see a whole year.

Yes, they do. I have one in my office. It measures 36 inches by 22 inches.
That's a good bit bigger even than the largest screen that Apple sell,
costing a couple of thousand dollars. How many people would want or need
something like that?
Maybe single appointments would not be
readable but with color coding one could easily get a sense for task timing
over a whole year.

On my 1440*990 screen, a full year would leave about 20*15 pixels per day.
Out of that you need to label the day/week/month in some way, so the useable
bits of that go down. Such a cluttered screen would be useless to me.
Microsoft develops a calendar product but does not
observe to see how people use calendars? My response holds. Get away from
the computer once in a while and re-familiarize yourself with the real
world.

I'm sure they have studied the way people use calendars. I know they study
the way people use computers. Ways of working are not always directly
transferable from 'real world' to computer screen.

My response holds.

Now, please remember, I do not need to answer posts here, I am not paid to
do it, I am not expected to do it, I have no obligation to be here. I have
twice ignored your rudeness, and I am willing to debate this topic sensibly
as long as the debate is constructive. However, I am not going to get into a
flame-war over this - I have better things to do with my time.
