Arrange by: Received not sorting properly

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

Not sure what more I can say beyond the subject but this seems to affect most folders and is my default sort. Arrange by Received doesn't have the same trouble.

Is there a reindex I can force to help fix this?

You need to say more. Screenshots would help too. You can post a screenshot
link using a service like ImageShack. ImageShack is an easy-to-use free
media hosting service. It can be used to upload images. Registration is not
required in order to upload files.

How To Post Screen Shots To Newsgroups

1. On your keyboard, press Command-Shift-4.
2. On your keyboard, press the space bar.
3. Click the window you want. A picture file will appear on the desktop.
4. Go to http://imageshack.us/.
5. Click Browse, then navigate to and select the picture file.
6. Click "host it!".
7. Paste the "Show image to friends" URL in a newsgroup message.

What I mean is that despite the sort selected, the messages are not sorted in that order and the out of order messages are almost always (if not always) ones I sent out. So Received By is kind of amorphous in that regard, since the message was never really received. Still I would expect Entourage to do the intelligent thing and use Sent as backup value.

The photo really helps. Do you just have the "received" sort selected or did
you modify it? You mention "by kind."

One thought. Were all these messages downloaded into Entourage or did you
import some? Imported messages will show received as date they were
imported.

If you sort by Sent does that show correctly? This is generally the best
option.
Still I would expect Entourage to do the
intelligent thing and use Sent as backup value.

Are you trying to arrange your Sent Items by Received? That doesn't make
sense.

Select View --> Arrange By --> Sent instead.
