Assignments showing up without going through Collaborate>Publish

I am in the process of creating a new project plan on Project Server 2003 and
assigning resources. I am saving the plan periodically, but I have not gone
through the Colloborate>Publish steps yet. However, tasks assignments are
appearing on the individuals web access views without me going through the
Publish steps. I was under the impression the tasks would not appear until I
went through the Colloborate>Publish steps. Am I doing something wrong or is
just the way Project Server 2003 works? Any help is appreciated.

FYI, I have not applied Service Pack 1 to Project Server 2003 yet.

Regards,

Dan

Click Tools - Options and then select the Collaborate tab. At the bottom of
the Collaborate page, are any of the options selected in the "On every save,
publish the following information to Project Server" section? If so,
deselect them and click the Set As Default button. Hope this helps.

Dale,

Yes, your reply really helps. Thank you very much. You are brillant. I am
glad you are on line today. I followed your steps and discovered that I had
both options selected to publish on every save. I had better put out a note
to my fellow PM's to let them know about this in case they are developing new
plans and don't want the assignments to go out before they are ready.

By the way, I am finding "Administering an Enterprise PMO using Microsoft
Office Project Server 2003" co-authored by you and Gary very helpful.

Regards,

Dan Ross
