Att email security enhancements

Does anyone know if the self support tool from att works with entourage?

Do not (repeat DO NOT) even think about using the useless ATT Self
Support Tool. The AT&T support news letter suggested using it for
Outlook Express etc and I screwed up big time by downloading and
installing the useless software package developed by Motive and sold to
AT&T. First, it is for PC only so it will not run on a Mac. It screwed
up my wife's Dell D-600 Latitude notebook so bad I had to use the Norton
Ghost to recover.

For the Mac and Entourage the update is pretty easy. Just open open
your Tools/Accounts and change the POP and SMTP address from the old to
pop.att.yahoo.com and smtp.att.yahoo.com

The under POP click on the Advanced receiving options and check the
first box and enter 995 in the port. Note the port should not be
checked.

The under SMTP click on the Advanced for sending and check all three
boxes and type in 465 to the port.

It has been working fine here. Too bad we cannot post a screen shot as
a picture sure would helpl

I really question if it is really a security enhancement. Just an
overly complicated method of getting rid of the out of date sbcglobal
domaine name.
