Attaching A Dynamic Web Template

I'm working with Dynamic Web Templates. At the moment I need to have 6
different Templates, 5 of these need to have one attached to it. Trhough
Microsoft Help I discovered that it is possible to attach a Dynamic Web
Template, but currently it won't allow me to select "attach dynamic web
template..." from the format menu. Can anyone explain why?
thanks in advance for any help

Let me Rephrase my earlier post.
I want to have a webpage with multiple DWT's. For example, I have a webpage
with one main nav, which I want to look the same for 12 different pages.
Every four (page A, page B, page C, page D) of the twelve pages has the main
nav, and also includes a 2nd level nav under the main nav. The 2nd level
nav looks different on each of these four, which gives me 5 different
variations of a navigational bars. Currently, if the 2nd level nav bar
changes with one of the four, I have to go into the template and manually
change the 2nd level nav bar for all four. If the main nav were to change,
I would have to go to all 12 templates and update it manually. I am trying
to find a solution, which I think could be accomplished through a Dynamic
Web Template attached to another DWT. That way if I do change the main nav,
it will update all of the dynamic web templates for me without having to go
into each template to fix it, and be able to also seperately update the 2nd
level nav for each of the other templates. I am not given the option to
attach a DWT into a DWT. And when I try to attach two different DWT to a
regular webpage, they delete the one that was previously there, which I only
get a result of one showing at a time. Is there anything I can do to step
around this problem? Or is tehre something I am not doing, or am doing
wrong?
Thanks again, for any help in advance,
-Mike-

FP does not support nested DWTs
Reduce your # of DWts to the minimum and use include pages or server side includes for the nav changes as Editable regions for the
variations
