attachment cannot open and entourage crashes

all my inbox with attachments, I no longer can open them. The application closes immediately with an error message from microsoft.

What type of attachments??
Can you save them to the desktop and open them there ??

What was the error message?

Where the messages completely downloaded?

If you drag one of the problem messages to the desktop, then create a new
did in Entourage, can you drag the test message into the new Identity and
open it there?

Tip: you don't need to enter account info for this test. Just create a new
Identity.
