Attachment Insertng and save as freezes

Hi

Office 2003 pro, XP Pro, full office and windows updates installed, pop3 and
exchange email-accoints. After reboot the couple first ataachment Insertings
in Outlook or Word save as... are fine but then it takes some minutes to
browse when saving or inserting attachment. Each browse step takes appx one
minute. The CPU usage is some two procents and the indexing service is in
use. The laptop has 512 MB RAM and it is half years old. Virtual memory
should be fine.

Why my computer freezes? Any hints?
