Attachment problem

First of all apologies if this post is in the wrong group. I have Outlook
Express, but cannot find a newsgroup for it, so am posting my problem here
hoping to get some help.

I recently upgraded to Outlook express 6 and am having a problem sending
attachments. OE keeps telling me that my attachment e.g. an exe file has a
virus and therefore will not send it. My system is virus free. I tried to
see if there was an option to disable OE from checking for a virus but
couldn't find an such an option. I use Norton Anti Virus and so do not need
OE also checking.

Any help would be much appreciated and again apologies for posting here.

Well...

Outlook Express has that thing...

is not that you file has a virus, but it could be a virus
it-self... by "polite rule" you do not send files with
EXE as extention... since if the recipient runs the file
they would have their pc messed up if that was a
virus/trojan/bug...

In fact, some OE would not even accept a file with that
extention... (any many others that could be potentialy
dangerous for your system)

The only thing you can do is to edit the register
(regedit) and i do not recommend for you to do that if
you are not sure about how to work with regedit.
