Hi,

I'm not sure how large a file or files I can send as attachments. Also I
don't know how to figure how large an email/attachments the recipient can
receive.

Right now I have 24 jpeg pictures I want to send to someone. A folder
containing all of them is 28.1 mb. I sent a 7 mb email to myself with some
pictures and it worked fine.

Should I send someone a 28 mb email?

I don't know what programs or equipment they're working on and how what I
send is received

Finally, does having the pictures included in the body of the email make the
email a larger size?

Thanks,

Rafael

Probably not, especially if you don't know what kind of connection they're
on and what their mailbox storage limit is. I know some people who use
<http://www.yousendit.com/> to send large attachments. Another option is to
post the files to a web server of your own and then send a link for download
to the recipient.

It shouldn't make a big difference. In Entourage, images can only appear in
the body of the message if it is an HTML message, which makes the message
somewhat larger, but it's not a huge difference compared to the total size
of the images you're sending.

OK. It didn't want to send when I tried the 28mb file. Entourage didn't
say anything, the email just didn't leave the outbox. I ended up sending
the whole thing in about 5 emails and they went out quickly.

I write most things in text, not html. I notice that when the attachments
are added the html bar doesn't become active. In Preferences >view
messages >show pictures in messages check box, I will check that box to
show pictures and nothing changes to HTML.

I'm just not sure what you mean.

On a similar subject. Can people who use @aol.com write html messages. Are
they working right off the web on email programs that are relatively
unsophisticated? I want to teach a friend html but she's on aol and maybe
doesn't have that capability.

Thanks, Rafael

Good.

When you have a new message open, you need to go to Format > HTML to turn
HTML formatting on. Then, you can either drag images into the message or go
to Message > Insert > Picture to insert an image into the message,

The latest versions of AOL do support writing HTML messages.

It depends on the user, I suppose.>
