Attachments appearing on desktop

I have a weird problem. All my received attachments are appearing on my
desktop. (I'm using Office X). As you can imagine, this makes for an
exceedingly messy desktop! How do i correct this? The documentation
says attachments are supposed to end up in Microsoft User Data/Saved
Attachments.

Entourage does not automatically save attachments anywhere, so you must have
a mail rule or applescript set to save the attachments out of the database.

Check through your list of rules.
