Greetings,

when i send an e-mail with attachments entourage will display a
message (encoding attachment) for each file i send, is this normal, or
something is wrong (i dont see the same message in Mail.app)

while sending attachments, how can i see the total size of the email?
or i have to calculate all the attachments manually ?

Yes, this is normal. Entourage chooses to tell you it's encoding; Mail
encodes without telling you.

After you've sent the mail, you can see the size by looking at the message
as listed in the Sent Items folder. As far as I know, the only way to
estimate the size before sending is to add up the size of the attachments.
Also note that the encoding process often makes attachments somewhat bigger
than the size shown for the same documents in the Finder.
