hi folks.
for any of you who want to learn more about using Access, but don't have a
lot of spare time/money, here's a tip:
a number of California's community colleges offer online Access classes,
both beginning and intermediate. enrolling in any community college is free,
and the current class registration is $26 per unit for California residents
(starting with Fall04 semester). the various classes i looked at range from
1.0 to 3.0 units; so it's a pretty cheap and convenient way to increase your
skill level.
hopefully the various beginning classes teach the basics of table
normalization, but i couldn't say.
to find a class, go to the link below. enter Microsoft Access in the
Keyword(s) box, and select Internet for delivery mode.
http://www.cvc.edu/catalog/csearch_adv.asp
if you're a non-California newbie, the classes are available to you - but
unfortunately they cost a lot more for non-residents.
