Audio speed.

Hi everybody,

I know that this may sound strange, but I need to create an animation
where a certain sound (a wav file) is played at different speeds (a
bell that clings quicker/slower). Any way of doing this? Maybe I need
to manipulate the sound file first but I don't know how to do that
either. Any advice is welcome.

Thanks,

S.

You can add an instance of Windows Media Player from the Controls ToolBar.
With it you can adjust playback speed of the media.

Very nice!!!! It works well by setting the properties to the needed
rate. The only problem that I cannot manage to solve is: I want the
sound to be played as part of an animation (I don't want it to play
automatically, I don't want to have to click the play myself). Is it
possible to generate the play event as part of an animation?

Thanks in advance,

S.

You can use Audacity to modify the speed so that it will play slow/faster
than the original sound.

First, download a copy of Audacity from http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Follow the instructions given to install Audacity.
After installation, open Audacity.
Click File > Open. Search for the wav file and click Open.
Now, click Effect > Change Speed.
Decrease the bar to slow down the speed, and increase the bar to make it
faster.
Finally, save it as a different file name.
See if that is what you want.

Ummm, it has to be one or the other. <g>

Yes, I didn't express myself correctly. The thing is that I want it to
play automatically, but as part of an animated sequence (instead of at
the beginning of a slide).

Hyperlink the sound file to the particular item in your animated sequence
that you choose to play the sound.
