Authorization Failed

I keeping getting an Authorization Failed error when I try to check two
different POP accounts with Entourage 2004. I know my username and
password are correct becuase I can check my mail on both hosting
company's websites. Does anyone have a clue what could be wrong? I get
the same error for both accounts even though they are from different
hosting companies...this makes me think it is something in Entourage.
Thanks.

I would start by assuming that Entourage is telling the truth. Try
checking your POP account using Apple's own Mail program. This will
confirm or disprove that you are just plain getting the
username/password (or server) wrong. m.

Thanks for the help. I tried it, and it tells me my password was
rejected. I am the one who set up one of the two problem accounts, so I
KNOW my password is right for that machine. This seems to take the
problem away from Entourage though. Could this by my ISP in some way? I
am not sure how or why that would affect it, but I am at a loss.

My guess is that you're perhaps giving the wrong POP username (my POP
username at yahoo DSL is not username, but [email protected], which
is always confusing). But this is not something to be resolved by
guesswork. As you rightly say, it is not an Entourage matter, so it no
longer belongs on this newsgroup. Try comp.sys.mac.comm and just start
all over with the new problem and proper information. m.
