Auto Filter "issues"

I have a spreadsheet that has almost 5,000 rows that
include name, system used, work group, etc. When I put an
Auto Filter on and search for a particular name (say
Jones), auto filter doesn't show the name in the list at
all. When I filter by "system used", then by name, the
name Jones appears. Why doesn't it show when I filter by
name? What am I doing wrong?

KC, have a look here for limits on auto filter, this could be what is wrong
