Auto forwarded e-mail sent by a rule does not appear in Sent Items

I have set up some rules using the Rules Wizard in Outlook, to forward
certain e-mails to other people in my office automatically, depending on the
contents of the e-mail, etc.

My concern is that these e-mails do not appear in my Sent Items, even though
they are actually being sent. Also, they appear in my Inbox as not read, and
I have to delete them or mark them as unread to get rid of the envelope icon
which tells me I have mail.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance.
