Auto Save Gone Wild?

Running MS Office 2k3 Pro on WinXP Pro SP2 on a new HP Compaq TC4200 Tablet
PC. Ever since I installed MS Office, everytime I open a document, I am
prompted to Save As about every 10 minutes. Doesn't matter which program I
am running - I'm experiencing this issue with Outlook (tries to Save As the
most recent read email), Access, Word and Excel. Very frustrating. There is
a Cancel option on the Save As prompt window, but cliking Cancel will only
make the window disappear temporarily only to reappear immediately. If I
consecutively click cancel about 20 times, the window will eventually go
away, only to reappear in about ten minutes once again.

Any idea what might be causing this? I've tried turning off AutoSave and
also disabled the Norton Office Plug In, but this has not remedied the
problem.

Do you mean perhaps AutoRecover? Check that file location for
AutoRecover files exists and is accessable/permissions to the user

I have the same exact problem with the same model PC TC4200 HP.

I have formatted the HDD and reloaded the OS problem returns. I
formatted again copied no userdata back to PC problem reappears.

It appears on new OS load with either office 2003 or 2002.

Moved HDD to another tablet, problem does not follow the HDD.

PC has latest windows updates, HP Bios, office 2003 sp2.

HP says it is Microsoft.

What is weird is i have about 45 of these tablets all with the same
software config this is the only one with this weird problem.
