How do I get the spell check to ignore proper nouns? It's a nuisance to have to cancel in order to send, every time I type a word beginning with a capital letter.

Personally, I just rely on the red squiggly lines as I type to correct.

Check the first option: "Check spelling as you type."
Uncheck the second option "Always check spelling before queuing outgoing
messages"

Check other options to be sure one of those is not causing a conflict.
