autocomplete contacts not in address book

I am running the original version of Entourage on a Mac G5 / OS X
10.3.5; all Office updates are installed. When I try to send a new
email, the autocomplete function lists names that are not a part of my
address book, some of them are names that were deleted, others I've
never heard of. Does anyone have experience with this problem
solution?
