Autocomplete Outlook 2007

K

KAM123

After sending a new message the autocomplete function works for tha
particular individual. However, after closing out of Outlook 2007, th
autocomplete does not work. In other words the autocomplete entires ar
saved only until the program closes.

We have completed an upgrade in our office to Outlook 2007. Only a fe
individuals are experiencing the problem, others are fine

That is a sign of a corrupt n2k file or mail profile. Easiest method to fix is to create a new mail profile.

Note, that should be .nk2 - shouldn't post so late.

I have having the same type of issue. I've followed the steps to
deleting the .n2k and it work. But, after logging off or rebooting the
system it goes back to not saving doing the auto complete.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,

That indicates you have a corrupt mail profile. Create a new one.

I am having the same issue, I have removed all mail profiles, I have
also renamed the "outlook" folder and created a new one to start from
fresh. I then created a new profile (as i had already deleted the others
from control panel/mail) but i'm still getting the same issue, so after
shutting down at the end of the day, i'll come in the next day and none
of the names will be remembered. please help

I have seen this issue caused by the user profile on the PC being set to
Debugger instead of Administrator.

You need to do the following...

1. Quit Outlook 2007

2. Go to any folder and select Tools > Folders Options > View. Chec
"Show hidden files and folders". Click OK.

3. Go to C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Applicatio
Data\Microsoft\Outlook

4. Delete any files with the extension .NICK

5. Launch Outlook 2007 it'll save e-mail addresses from now on

The .NICK file is left from Outlook 2000. The e-mail addresses fo
Outlook 2003 onwards are saved in the .N2K file.

Hope this helps,
