AutoComplete will not insert full current date

Shauna

I am having problems with AutoComplete inserting the full
date. It will suggest the month when typing the first 4
letters but will not continue with today's date. This
stopped working a few months back and it's driving me
crazy trying to figure out why.

Any suggestions?

Note: AutoComplete is checked in AutoText.

This is a known problem. Although it works as advertised for some lucky
users, most of us find that you can get either the month or the rest of the
date after typing the month yourself. Sorry.

There are better ways to insert dates using Autotext. e.g. Try entering a
CREATEDATE field in your document eg
{CREATEDATE \@ "d MMM yyyy"} changing the mask to suit local requirements.
Toggle the display (ALT+F9) to show the current date, then select that date
and save as an autotext called e.g. 'date'. You can then type 'date' which
will give you an autotext prompt to insert the date.
